Pokemon Go players aren’t evolving after “letdown” Shiny designs

Pokemon Go players are slamming certain Shiny Pokemon, with many hating them so much they’re refusing to evolve.

In both standard Pokemon and Pokemon Go, Shinys are usually the pride and joy of a Pokedex. Other than a Hundo, the beautiful variant Pokemon allows players to show off a pretty rare catch.

Due to this rarity, they’re usually extremely sought after, with fans using Community Days and raids to bag themselves a Shiny.

However, not all Shinys were made equally, and many fans have previously slammed some creations for being far too similar to their non-shiny counterparts. In fact, it’s now got to a point where players are refusing to evolve some of their Pokemon due to the “letdown” Shiny designs.

Pokemon Go players slam “god awful” Shinys

Posting their frustration on Reddit, one Pokemon Go player shared the stunning Shiny Lotad, along with an image of their lackluster Shiny evolutions, that barely feel far from the original design.

“Who else has this happen?” asked the player, airing their grievance after reportedly evolving their Lotad into the disappointing Shiny Lombre.

Hundreds have been experiencing the same frustration as they took to the comments to slam countless Shiny designs.

“Not evolving my Electabuzz for that reason. If I have single shinies I only evolve them if the next stage is cooler” explained one player, who’s withholding their Pokemon and refusing to evolve it into a worse Shiny.

This sentiment was echoed among other players, with one revealing how they “will literally never evolve my shiny Slakoth because of this.”

Another explored the disappointment of Snubull’s Shiny design: “Omg I was literally about to say this exact same one! I was expecting something way cooler but then massive disappointment.”

The design of Shiny Pokemon has been a hotly contested theme among Pokemon for years, and it’s clear the community is increasingly frustrated, especially when evolving into something they wish they could take back.
