Pokemon Go fans have praised the rewards for the Road to Sinnoh event, with many excited to see free Legendary encounters through the Timed Research quest.

Pokemon Go recently announced the Road to Sinnoh event in preparation for the Go Tour Sinnoh festivities beginning on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Like the Go Tour Sinnoh event, Road to Sinnoh features Pokemon from Generation 4 and offers trainers plenty of bonuses, quests, and monster encounters.

Now, players have praised this event for offering a handful of Legendary Pokemon encounters free of charge, thanks to the included Timed Research quest.

A post on TheSilphRoad subreddit sparked a discussion among the community after a user posted an infographic showing what trainers can expect from the Road to Sinnoh event.

While the event offers fairly standard Wild encounters like the Gen 4 Starters and their evolutions, trainers quickly noticed the free Timed Research encounters.

According to the official Pokemon Go blog post, fans who complete Timed Research quest tasks can earn encounters with Heatran, Origin Forme Giratina, Cresselia, and Darkrai—all of which can be Shiny.

Fans were quick to praise the Timed Research quest, especially because these Legendaries could be captured free of charge.

“Timed Research with Legendarys is kind of hype,” said one fan, while another commented, “Kind of hyped for this. Hoping I can actually beat some content…”

On top of the free encounters from Timed Research, trainers can find all four Legendaries and Regional spawns for the Lake Trio through 5-Star Raids. During the event, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 10.

However, not every aspect of the event received praise from fans, with many noting how the Wild spawns were “awful.”

Those wild spawns are legitimately awful…” said one trainer, and another claimed they were the “worst wild spawns in the history of this game.”

While some fans may be annoyed at the state of the Sinnoh Starters during the event, those looking to get a Cresselia for Great League should take advantage of the free Timed Research while it’s available.
