The rare Hoenn Bug-type Pokemon Nincada seems to be appearing for some Pokemon Go players, and hopefully, it signals the resurgence of the ever-elusive Shedinja.

Most Pokemon Go fans know by now that some Pokemon are more elusive than others. While the Legendaries are rare for obvious reasons, sometimes a ‘mon isn’t rare, or powerful, but just doesn’t turn up very often at all.

That’s the case with the humble Nincada, the Cicada Pokemon from the Hoenn region. Still, it seems that several Pokemon Go players are reporting the creature’s surprise appearance, and it’s igniting hopes of the return of Shedinja to boot.

Nincada suddenly appears in Pokemon Go Raids

In a Reddit post shared by GO_FRIEND_APP, the user shares data on the newest pool of Pokemon Go raids, after the recent changes went live in the farthest East parts of the world like New Zealand. Data suggests that Nincada is set to make a surprise return to raids.

Other Pokemon Go players in the comments seem thrilled, with one person adding, “Oh sweet! Nincada is in raids! It has been rare ever since it became nearly extinct. I need the candies and a 3-star shiny.”

Meanwhile, checking online it seems players are already encountering this elusive creature in Raids, with one Pokemon Go player called @Natmon96 taking to X (Twitter) and sharing a post with the ‘mon.

The post says, “my mum just sent me this asking if it was new bc she doesn’t know it. was there any announcements of Nincada being in raids bc i did not know this was coming ??? i don’t even have it.”

If you’re looking up how to find Nincada in Pokemon Go then be sure to check our guide, but for now, it seems that there is no word on the return of Shedinja. Hopefully, this resurgence in Nincada’s availability is a sign of good things to come.
