Pokemon fans can try out this impossible quiz asking you to name every ‘mon ever. Yes, that’s over 1000 different collectible creatures.

We all know there are plenty of different Pokemon, as The Pokemon Company has slowly shifted the famous “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” motto into the background. To be fair, with over 1000 pocket monsters to find and catch, they don’t even fit into a single game anymore.

Well, whether you’re a Gen 1-er, or a modern fan loading up Pokemon Go or Pokemon Scarlet and Violet regularly, this impossible quiz is bigger than a Wailord’s wardrobe and sure to separate the Slowpokes from the Slowkings.

Based on the viral London Tube memory game, this impossible quiz tasks you with naming all 1017 Pokemon in under an hour, but the biggest barrier here might be your typing speed and if you can spell every Pokemon correctly. Today I learned that Venusaur is spelt with a ‘u’ in the middle.

An impossibly difficult Pokemon quiz asks if you can name ‘em all

It’s tough to believe, but after nearly 30 years of the Pokemon franchise and nine generations of mainline games, we’re finally into quadruple digits, as Gholdengo sits at the coveted #1000 spot in the national dex. We can’t say we’d have picked a golden ghost-type cheese string to mark the occasion, but different strokes and all that.

Thankfully the quiz doesn’t accept the many different Pokemon forms, so no extra points for Hisuian Growlithe or Alolan Raichu et al, but even with this omission it’s staggering to think of the whopping roster of Pocket Monsters that now populate the franchise.

Still, with millions of Pokemon fans scattered around the globe, every single one of those cute little virtual pals is someone’s favorite. Thankfully, if you’re a Pokemon Go player you can check out the latest Spotlight Hour or Community Day, and hopefully nab yourself a shiny version for your collection. So, do you think you’re a Pokemon master? Can anyone manage to name all 1017 (for now) Pokemon within the time limit?
