Even though no Pokemon games have been released in 2024, many fans insist that this is a good thing – especially when it comes to Pokemon Legends Z-A.

While it may seem odd for fans to demand even more time without new games to sink their teeth into, it’s not unexpected. Modern Pokemon releases like Scarlet & Violet faced criticism for seeming unfinished or half-baked, and many are anxious that Z-A could fall into the same pitfalls.

The topic popped up in a fan discussion online, kick-started by a Pokemon fan who posted a meme about the community being excited by Legends Z-A delays. This prompted a fierce debate about the game, with some fans excited to see the release soon and others hoping it would take as long as possible.

One Pokemon player shared, “I’m praying that Z-A is the only game we get next year – and hopefully, doesn’t come out until we’re a good way into 2025 so that there’s no ifs or buts about 2024 being a gap year.”

Others agreed with this sentiment, but some weren’t sure that Z-A would be the only 2025 release. A fan added, “Honestly I wish they took more time between recent gens that got released, so many of them could have been more polished on release day. But you know, money.”

The idea of wishing for game delays had many Pokemon players poking fun at the community as a whole. One fan jokingly noted, “You know you as a fan have it bad when you want a game to be delayed. GF needs to slow down. The games will sell anyway, so why not just take your time to polish it?”

Comparisons to other games were also discussed. One person mentioned the infamous Silksong, and another Nintendo fan shared, “TOTK got pushed back like twice so they’d get a whole year to playtest. Just saying.”

Whether you’re hoping for more frequent releases or a delayed unveiling of Pokemon Legends Z-A, it’s hard to deny that there’s an immense amount of hype about the next Legends game. Some players are returning to Pokemon Legends Arceus to fill in the time between releases.
