Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC’s graphics are not impressing players
PokemonWhile fans are enjoying all the new content that has come to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet with the latest DLC, some players are upset that the minimum performance specs remain underwhelming.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet patch 2.0.1 has hit, bringing the Teal Mask DLC expansion, new Pokemon, and some improvements to the base game.
Players have already made their way into The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, searching for new Pokemon and old favorites like Snorlax, Yanma, and Duskull, who are all joining Scarlet & Violet for the first time.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for every Scarlet & Violet player who is looking to capture their first Cutiefly or Hoothoot.
Scarlet & Violet players report freezing and poor graphics
While a lot of players are enjoying the content of the latest patch, others are upset that Nintendo has continued to neglect the game’s performance. In a thread on Reddit, players have voiced their disappointment at how the DLC looks and runs.
One commenter reported freezing, camera glitches, and FPS dips while playing the Teal Mask DLC, expressing their frustration that “they had ample time and opportunity to just, at minimum, fix performance.”
Others in the comments agreed, with one saying “For me, the base game runs pretty fine, but the DLC area I’ve noticed is absolutely chugging, like it feels like everything is slowed by a few tenths of a second.”
A third echoed the frustrations and noted that during one trainer battle, “it was like 10 FPS. And then when I moved around, certain areas in mountains and the fields lagged so much.”
Plenty of trainers who hadn’t yet bought the DLC expressed their thanks to the others who shared these problems, with plenty saying it wouldn’t make them buy the expansion.
“This is what I wanted to know. If it’s just as empty and soulless as the main game and still has shit performance and bugs I’m not buying it.”
Ultimately, what seems to frustrate trainers the most is the fact that the Pokemon Company had so much time to fix these known performance issues with this new area. The failure to even make the DLC meet minimum performance expectations has caused a lot of consternation among Pokemon players.
“It’s a smaller area on its own map there’s even less that needs to tax the system and yet it runs just as poorly as the main game,” the first commenter noted.
