Pokémon Sword and Shield fans are already creating amazing Nessa cosplays
Nintendo / CutiePie Cosplay, TwitterPokémon Sword and Shield is the latest addition to the beloved franchise, bringing with it a slew of new creatures and characters – one of whom is already taking the internet by storm.
Pokemon’s June 5 Direct and E3 presentation introduced brand-new Pokémon, the larger-than-life Dynamax mechanic, and a never-before-seen trainer, who goes by the name ‘Nessa’ – likely a play on the infamous Loch Ness monster, popularly known as “Nessie” for short.
However, Nessa is no lake monster: she’s a hip, stylish gym leader who specializes in Water Type Pokémon, and she’s already won the hearts of fans across the globe.
Nessa is one of the newest Gym Leaders added to the Pokémon universe, who is already stealing fan’s hearts due to her confident air and athletic style.600
In fact, Nessa is so well-loved that cosplayers are already trying their hands at creating her athletic style in real life, coming up with some stunning renditions of the character in the process.
Cosplayer ‘Pattie Cosplay’ is one such costumer, who brings Ness’s charm to the real world with her spot-on design of the gym leader.

Complete with her custom sports top and and delicate jewelry, Pattie Cosplay truly brings out Nessa’s confident demeanor – but she’s not the only one to recreate the character’s likeness.
Cosplayer CutiePie Sensei likewise took on the Gym Leader, using a shiny fabric to recreate her sports top and even breaking out her blue Pokéball.

CutiePie Sensei even added Nessa’s blue streaks in her hair, bringing the entire ensemble together – making for a seriously intimidating opponent.
While Nessa is still a brand-new character, plenty of cosplayers are working hard to bring her to life, with ‘Leira Cosplays’ uploading a progress video of her costume thus far – and we’ve got to admit, it’s already looking fantastic!

While we don’t know everything about Nessa just yet, footage from Nintendo’s E3 presentation shows her using the Dynamax mechanic to bring her Drednaw to new heights, suggesting that she is a truly formidable enemy in the Stadium, as well as having a “calm and collected attitude” and a “competitive spirit and indomitable will.”
Nessa isn’t the only new addition to the Pokémon universe, by far: the June 5 Direct likewise showcased two new Legendaries, who take the form of wolves, with one wielding a sword while the other sports a shield-like mane.

With the new game debuting in November 2019, fans can’t wait to get their hands on the title – or the upcoming Pokémon, for that matter.
