Pokemon TCG players slam “worst pulls” in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151
The Pokemon CompanyElite Trainer Boxes are some of the most popular Pokemon TCG products – but they don’t always go down well with fans, as one disappointed player showed online recently.
Picking up an Elite Trainer Box should, in theory, be an exciting process for Pokemon TCG fans. If you’ve not picked one up before, they usually contain 9-10 booster packs, promo cards, card sleeves, dice, and more.
They’re also relatively expensive when compared to other Pokemon TCG products like mini tins or booster bundles. This doesn’t always translate to good pulls, though, as one unlucky Pokemon fan found out when picking up some recent boxes.
Pokemon TCG fan disappointed by 151 ETB pull rates
Originally popping up in a Reddit post, Pokemon TCG fan Jealous_Constant_932 took to r/pokemoncards to share their upsetting experience with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – 151 Elite Trainer Boxes.
They purchased a couple of ETBs back to back, only to find an underwhelming pair of ex cards amongst all both boxes. For extra context, two 151 Elite Trainer Boxes contain 18 booster packs overall.
Jealous_Constant_932 expressed their frustration in the caption, describing how they’d opened the boxes and vowing that they’d “never be opening one of these ETBs again.”
Some Pokemon fans in the thread felt their pain, with several sharing their own experiences with underwhelming pulls and one fan agreeing “I had the worst of luck with ETBs.”
Others weren’t so sure, sharing their own positive experiences with ETBs or even pointing to potential batching issues instead of product design/pull rate problems.
One user commented “all products have the same pull rates, the batching is just garbage” and another noted how they only buy in person so they can examine the product themselves.
Out of all the products mentioned in this thread, the one that seemed to get the most praise was the mini tins. Mini tins are a much more affordable option and plenty of fans in this thread shared that they’d had good experiences with them, with one saying that mini tins “had been the hot item” for them while they’d had no luck with booster bundles.
