A Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainer stumbled upon a strange glitch that gave their Incineroar text-based “tattoos” across its fur.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC introduced a bunch of returning Pokemon to Gen 9, which included every Starter Pokemon from past Generations.

Now, trainers can walk around Paldea, Kitakami, and the Blueberry Academy Terarium with their favorite partner Pokemon like Incineroar.

However, one trainer noticed a strange glitch while traveling with their Incineroar, as it appeared to have text-based “tattoos” wrapped around the dark parts of its fur.

The glitch came from the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit where a trainer said, “Noticed a glitch where text would appear around Incineroar’s body.”

The OP included a set of screenshots that showed Incineroar standing in the snow. Should one look at Incineroar’s tail and arm fur, one can see white text wrapped around its model.

“I noticed this about two weeks ago when I was training my Incineroar,” the player explained. The text would go away when I retrieved him but I don’t know what caused it. I think it’s kinda cool lol.”

Members of the Scarlet & Violet community found the glitch amusing, with many calling the text “tattoos.”

“Big cat got tattoos,” said one fan, while another commented, “Nah he just got some sick tats.”

Others leaned into the pro-wrestling inspirations of the Fire/Dark-type. “It’s his sponsors, world’s best Pokemon gonna have some of those yknow,” one fan said.

It’s unclear exactly why this strange glitch occurred, but it seems to be an issue with textures overwriting one another.

As others in the posts’ comments pointed out, a similar glitch has occurred when using the Let’s Go mechanic with Luxray.

Hopefully, the next Generation 9 title, Pokemon Legends Z-A, will launch in a much more polished state than Scarlet & Violet.
