“Remember, Trainers! As part of our Water Festival, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf will appear in raids in their respective regions on August 28, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time,” the official Pokemon Go Twitter account shared.
The legendary trio first appeared in Pokemon Go back in late April, 2019. Surprisingly they were first seen in the wild, giving some lucky trainers the opportunity to catch them without going through the process of a raid battle.
This was until May 2 when they were moved to raid battles until the end of May. They then left the Pokemon Go world, remaining absent, until now.
All three of them are particularly hard to catch, even for a raid battle. There is just a 5% chance of capture even when throwing a ‘great’ curveball and using a golden razz berry. It means capture of the psychic types upon defeating it, is far from guaranteed and even statistically unlikely.
You can make the raid battles themselves a lot easier for you, though. Being physic types, Uxie, Mespirit and Azelf are relatively weak against Mewtwo, Gengar, Tyranitar and Giratina. In particular the move Shadow Ball is highly effective.
The Lake Guardians were some of the last Pokemon from Gen 4 to be introduced to Pokemon Go but did Gen 3’s Jirachi into the game – who itself has only just been released.
