Bachelor fans slam Season 28 contestant Lea Cayanan for being “too young” for show
ABCLea Cayanan is a new contestant on The Bachelor Season 28, but fans think she’s too young to be on the show.
The Bachelor Season 28 returns this month with Joey Graziadei as the lead, and viewers will see his journey to find love.
At the Bachelor Mansion, Joey will meet the 32 women competing for his final rose at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old was a runner-up on The Bachelorette Season 20 with Charity Lawson, and is continuing to look for someone he can spend the rest of his life with.
Each season, the contestants and leads on the show are skewing younger, causing many Bachelor Nation relationships to end well before they even start.
Bachelor fans don’t think Lea is ready to get married to Joey
The Bachelor Season 28 premieres on Monday, January 22, and Lea Cayanan is one of the 32 contestants appearing on the show.
Lea’s limo entrance was shared on The Bachelor’s official Instagram page, and fans had concerns about her young age since she’s only 23 years old.
“Stop. Casting. Anyone. Under. The. Age. Of. 25. It’s so insane,” one fan wrote in the comments of the post.
Another agreed and said, “I’m Filipino but she is too young for joey tbh. I don’t think she is ready to get married.”
“I just can’t with these young girls.. 23?!? You’re barely out of college and you’re ready to be married? There should be an age limit,” a different fan chimed in.
Although fans of The Bachelor may feel that younger contestants aren’t focused on marriage or starting a family, Lea could prove them wrong. She’s only five years younger than Joey, which isn’t a big age gap.
In her introduction, the O’ahu, Hawaii native mentioned that she’s the daughter of two immigrant parents and is family-oriented.
While Lea’s age might suggest that she’s not ready to settle down anytime soon, Joey will ultimately decide if he wants to get to know her throughout his time on The Bachelor.
The Bachelor Season 28 airs on Monday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
