La Gondola from Season 3 of the original Kitchen Nightmares series is about to be turned into an apartment complex.

The aim of Kitchen Nightmares is for iconic chef Gordon Ramsay to travel across the world to visit struggling restaurants in hopes of getting them back on their feet.

And while some building renovations and pep talks do the trick when the cameras are rolling, the restaurants almost always revert back to their normal routine which leads to closures.

In fact, only a little over 15% of the restaurants that appeared in the original series have since gone out of business, and one of those businesses is now about to transform into something new.

La Gondola from Kitchen Nightmares is being demolished

On February 2, BBC reported that La Gondola is officially headed for a complete demolition.

OG fans of the series might remember this UK restaurant from Season 3, Episode 4.

It opened back in the 60s and was on the brink of closure due to the lack of sales. While Gordon stepped in to try and save it, his efforts were ultimately in vain.

From microwaving their food before giving it to guests, and a team that couldn’t get on the same page, it was just two years after their episode aired that La Gondola closed its doors for the last time.

Instead of a restaurant, the land will now used for a large apartment complex.

For those of you who want to take one last glance at the original building before it is torn down, the process of demolition has not begun just yet, so there is still some time to head to Derby, take a picture, and remember the iconic restaurant for what it once was. Gordon hasn’t publicly spoken out about the restaurant’s demolition as of yet.
