DWTS viewers complain about “repetitive and boring” themed nights

On the heels of the Taylor Swift & Whitney Houston night announcements for Season 32, DWTS fans are over themed nights.

When it comes to Dancing with the Stars, the pairs are asked to perform each week to a specific dance style.

Regarding music choice, sometimes they are not given a lot to choose from, especially when it’s artist-themed nights, which means that the duos are only allowed to dance to a song from that singer.

So far, Season 32 has already confirmed the show’s first-ever Taylor Swift night. And now, days after that announcement, another icon is slated to have a night of dancing. And viewers are not looking forward to it.

Are DWTS fans excited for Whitney Houston night?

On October 23, the DWTS Instagram account revealed that another artist night, centered around Whitney Houston, will take place for Season 32.

It will air on November 14, and Broadway performer Billy Porter will attend as a guest judge.

Annoyed, viewers quickly took to a Reddit thread to vent about the new announcement.

One fan wrote, “All respect to Whitney Houston and every other artist they’ve featured in this way or will feature but I really don’t like these artist specific nights. By the time I get halfway through the night I’m ready for something new.”

Another fan wrote, “I love Whitney Houston. Don’t get me wrong. She’s an absolute icon. But…I’m really tired of these artist specific nights. They get so repetitive and boring, IMO.”

Hopefully, DWTS will consider fan criticism and have fewer themed nights next season if the show gets renewed. Will these be the only two artist nights of Season 32? Only time will tell.
