Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino said he’s still processing saving his son from choking to death at the dinner table.

Mike “The Situation” and his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, were dining in their home with their son Romeo, 2, and Mia, 1, when Romeo began choking.

Having to spring into action, Mike opened up with Good Morning America about how traumatic the experience was.

Fortunately, Romeo recovered from choking on one of his favorite dishes, pesto gnocchi, but Mike said he’s “still processing” how everything went down.

Mike says his son choking was the “scariest” moment of his life

With a video camera situated in the corner of the ceiling of their home, Mike and Lauren have been able to look back on how Romeo nearly choked to death.

Saying that he still has “tingles” talking about it, Mike was able to help save Romeo’s life by patting him on the back.

Though he was afraid of hitting Romeo too hard, Mike told GMA, “I knew I didn’t want to hit him too hard when he was upright because I thought maybe that could maybe lodge the food even further. So that’s why I had got him upright…”

At that point, Lauren had retrieved an anti-choking device from their kitchen and was ready to use it. Luckily, her efforts were successful.

Mike went on to say that he and Lauren “worked in synergy as a team,” and that he was extremely proud of his “superhero” wife.

He also referred to the experience as the “scariest” moment in his life, and although it was a “very scary close call,” Mike and Lauren’s son Romeo is nevertheless doing “amazing.”
