Love Is Blind’s Clay Gravesande accused of displaying abusive behavior
AD might be in love with Clay, but Love Is Blind viewers don’t think he’s trustworthy enough for marriage.
One of the main contestants looking for their forever partner this season is Clay Gravesande, an eligible bachelor introduced as an Enterprise and Sales Entrepreneur.
After going through the dating process and being involved in a chaotic love triangle with Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Season 6’s villain Matthew Duliba, he proposed to AD and she accepted his offer sight unseen.
Even though they are now engaged and heading to their potential on-screen wedding ceremony, viewers are still stuck on Clay and what he said and did during the pods.
So much so, that fans are hoping AD walks away from this romance as soon as possible.
Love Is Blind fans do not get a good vibe from Clay
On February 17, LIB US viewers took to Reddit to discuss their concern over Clay’s behavior in the first few episodes.
Most are appalled by his interactions with AD, with some even wondering if their relationship is going to turn toxic.
One fan wrote, “He outright stated that he’ll tell his girl to go the gym if he isn’t liking her appearance anymore. He’s immature at best and someone with the capacity for abusiveness at worst.”
Another fan chimed in and wrote, “I can see him being emotional[ly] abusive. The way he said she can’t get out of shape if they decide to have kids.”
Clay hasn’t publicly addressed the fan backlash as of yet. Viewers will see by the end of the season and its accompanying reunion whether or not he has been portrayed in a negative light or if viewers feel more validated in their judgment.
