Louisiana musician Doreen Ketchens, who was featured on Queer Eye Season 8, called out the production team for property damage and exploitation during the duration of filming.

Queer Eye production staff are under fire once again after fans blamed the production for mismanagement and mistreatment of the cast members leading to Fab Five’s Bobby Berk leaving the show after Season 8.

On top of that, there was a security threat during the production of Queer Eye Season 8 which led to the production team spending some extra budget on ensuring cast safety.

Now one of the Heroes featured on Season 8 stepped up to talk about mismanagement and exploitation by Queer Eye production team and Netflix.

Doreen Ketchens tells all about Queer Eye on Instagram

Doreen Ketchens, who is an acclaimed traditional jazz clarinetist, was cast on Queer Eye Season 8 as a Hero and she needed help taking over her family business. Her shop Doreen’s Sweets was given a makeover by Fab Five member Bobby Berk.

On January 13, a screenshot of an Instagram post made by Doreen spread around on social media where the local clarinet queen accused Queer Eye production staff and Netflix of theft and property damage.

In her post, she wrote that the production team had refused to take any responsibility for the losses and was happy to exploit the cast.

Fans expressed their heartbreak in the Reddit discussion post. One fan wrote, “As a Nola Native who walks past the clarinet queen (almost) every day, I really hope this isn’t true. Very sad.”

A viewer in the Reddit thread pointed out that Bobby Berk had commented under Doreen’s post offering help.

He wrote, “Can you please DM me the details so I can see if I can help. I don’t have much to do with the show anymore, but will do what I can to help ❤️”

A fan connected Berk’s exit from Queer Eye with the whole situation and said, “Maybe this is why Bobby left, the lack of critical thinking skills & professionalism on the side of the production/bosses? Since I’ve been following this page, I have seen more posts about the shadiness & laziness of this television show’s production team, than some celebrities have attached to their names.”

However, it seems that Doreen might have removed the post from her Instagram account. It is not known if the production staff or Bobby reached out to help the musician.

All seven seasons of the show are available to stream on Netflix, and the next season is scheduled to air on January 24.
