The Traitors UK Series 2 fans devastated as this one contestant is ‘murdered’ off the gameshow
BBCAubrey Emerson became the first contestant to be eliminated from The Traitors UK Series 2, but the fans felt unsatisfied with him leaving the show so early. Here is everything you need to know.
The Traitors UK Series 2 returned on BBC One and iPlayer earlier in January 2024 and the fans reacted very positively to the new season premiere.
The show once again brought the host, Claudia Winkleman, and 22 new contestants on screen for us. As always contestants were divided into two groups the ‘faithful’ and ‘traitors’ – both to eliminate the other and win up to £120,000. The filming backdrop was also again the magnificent Ardross Castle located north of Inverness.
During the first three episodes, one person was to be eliminated from the show and that turned out to be Aubrey.
Aubrey didn’t expect an early elimination
The retired shop owner and cat lover grew on the viewers during his short time on The Traitors and fans were having a hard time accepting that he was the first to go off-screen.
Aubrey had joined the game show wanting to prove to himself that he wasn’t too old to try new things. He shared with BBC during the cast interview, “I’d never ever dreamt in a million years that I’d be where I am now. So that was it really, no other reason. Oh and, to speak the truth, the location is beautiful, that castle is fantastic, and why not at 66?”
The fans expressed their disappointment under Aubrey’s Instagram posts and said, “I literally cried… first you then Sonja?? Robbed” Another wrote: “Awww man, I was looking forward to seeing more of your amazing outfits 🙌🔥🔥🔥”
Aubrey talked about his elimination and said that even if it was unexpected he understood why they murdered him off the show. Aubrey understood that his observant personality was what made him a threat to the contestants and that was what made him a target.
The Traitors UK airs on BBC One at 21:00 GMT every Wednesday. The first three episodes are available to watch on iPlayer as well.
