Summit1g airs his frustration with the current state of Sea of Thieves

Popular Twitch streamer Jaryd ‘summit1g’ Lazar is back playing Sea of Thieves after temporarily stepping away from it following the release of Apex Legends – but he still has critical words to say about the swashbuckling adventure game.

Summit1g voiced frustration with the monotony of the game, arguing that it doesn’t allow players to progress as quickly as it should.

“We need voyages that are fun for people,” he said. “So that there’s loot out there to either be stolen, or to be dug up. Stop this seafarer chest shit. You should be digging up seafarer chests for two fucking days, and then upgrade after that.”

Summit was playing Sea of Thieves almost exclusively before the release of Apex Legends.

Developers Rare have been criticized before by Summit, when he stated that there were not enough players on the servers to make the game enjoyable and that ghost ships are not a worthwhile addition to the game.

He repeated his dislike of ghost ships, and went on to state that Sea of Thieves’ current in-game rewards for victory are insufficient, and not as satisfying as they should be: “90% of your ship battles should not be just to have a ship battle. It should be because they have stuff.”

In Summit’s opinion, the open-world game, which includes the possibility of conquering other users’ ships, does not do enough to ensure players are given worthwhile prizes for their victories, and this renders success futile.

“The most heart-wrenching thing that can happen in this game,” Lazar said. “Is me dumping on fucking ship after ship after ship, to go into empty captain’s quarters, after empty captain’s quarter, after empty fucking captain’s quarter.”

He completed his rant with a direct message for Rare, declaring that they’re responsible for “the worst thing that can happen” in the game, and making it clear that he wants to see in-game alterations sooner rather than later.
