Joker’s arrival in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate might have been delayed

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans might have been expecting the Joker to be added to the game’s roster in April, but its imminent arrival is starting to look increasingly unlikely.

The character, which was a staple of Atlus’ own Persona 5 video game, was revealed to be the next fighter to enter the Smash arena in December of 2018. This was revealed in the DLC trailer.

That promotional video initially advertised that the Joker was “Approaching: April,” leading many to believe that the new content would be added during that month.

Piranha Plant was the last DLC character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

However, eagle-eyed fans have now spotted that there’s been a change to the trailer and it could be bad news for those who were looking forward to getting their hands on a new playable character.

“April” has now been removed in the trailer, potentially casting a shadow over its release – as seen in the tweets below.

While this doesn’t necessarily confirm a delay for the Joker’s introduction, it does seem to have confused those who were expecting to be able to play with him in April. Perhaps their wait might be a little longer now, after the tweak in advertising from Nintendo.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has one of the deepest and comprehensive rosters in fighting video game history, with 70 fighters at the disposal of fans – including downloadable content.

Nevertheless, with rumors suggesting that there could be up to 10 more empty slots in the game’s data files – excluding Joker, who has already been confirmed to be added – players will be expecting more video game figures to appear in the popular fighting title in the future.

When the Joker will be added, though, remains to be seen at this stage.
