Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players claim devs “trolled” with max-level craftable suit
Marvel / ChoyJayMarvel’s Spider-Man 2 players are expressing some disappointment at the final suit in the game, with many hoping that Insomniac would give something more fitting.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a bit of a museum of the hero’s many suits. As you play through the game, you unlock suits from both Miles Morales and Peter Parker’s history. If you have a favorite suit, especially from one of the movies, you’ll likely be able to find it here.
Unlocking these creates an excellent sense of progression to go alongside the story and your hunt for collectibles. Because of that, some players are reasonably expecting to see cooler, more desirable suits as they get further into the game.
However, for some, the final suit you unlock doesn’t follow that trend, leaving them disappointed and feeling a little “trolled”.
The final suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man is a disappointment
A Reddit thread by user CazBrown titled “This being Peter’s max-level craftable suit may be Insomniac’s biggest troll yet” has garnered 1.3k upvotes. The suit you receive for reaching max level is the Spider-Man: No Way Home suit he uses to fight Electro.
Many players are finding this underwhelming, as plenty had hoped the final suit you unlock from leveling would be something special. Instead, it’s a very specific suit from the films.
It seems the game’s overreliance on film suits for Peter Parker has rubbed people the wrong way. “Having 70% of the suits be recycled or MCU is a bigger troll”, said one commenter. Another lamented that they were missing some of the suits from the first game. “Recycled suits are not an issue (why would it be?), the issue is the missing suits from the last two games like Big Time, Last Stand, Black Suit, Kaines Scarlet Spider Suit, and many others.”
One Redditor said, “I love I’m not the only one who felt a huge amount of disappointment when I saw the black and gold suit was the final buyable suit”.
While it is cool to see so much representation from the movies, and these iconic suits recreated so lovingly, it’s clear that, especially for Peter, a lot of his wardrobe is taken up by film suits. This wouldn’t be an issue, but the suits from films are not able to be modded with new styles like others from comics and Insomniac’s own suits. Hopefully with any imminent DLC, Insomniac will add more options for players to wear their favorite suits.
