Starfield bug hilariously launches player into space without his ship
Starfield / BethesdaA Starfield player’s ship launch took an unexpected turn after a bizarre bug saw them fired into space with just the cockpit of their ship, with everything else being left behind.
Bethesda released its highly anticipated space exploration game in early access on September 1, with its full release coming days later on September 6.
Despite some controversial low reviews causing a rocky start for Starfield, many believe these are due to players not giving the game enough time to get good. As time has gone on, the release has proven to be a wild success as an increasing number of passionate fans have naturally found themselves getting lost in the vast universe.
However, Bethesda is infamous for various bugs featured in their games and Starfield is no exception. One such bug is an infinite money glitch, which has led to an abundance of space millionaires.
Popular gaming creator Shroud has even expressed his wish for more in-game bugs for the Sci-fi RPG as he states Bethesda’s “bug-filled” games give them charm. His wish has been fulfilled after Starfield players have been getting launched into space in a hilarious way.
Starfield bug causes ship launch to go hilariously wrong
A user posted a video to the Starfield subreddit, which showed the player’s character being launched into space with just the cockpit of his ship and nothing else.
In the clip, the player is seen starting the takeoff sequence as usual, before the hilarious outcome, which was caused by a bug that fans suspect is related to the Ship Building feature.
“…didn’t experience a single bug until right before this my ship disappeared, then after I fixed that this happened,” the poster said.
“You literally cannot move in space as your thrusters are still on the ground, so I hope you’ve got some fast travel points,” one comment responded.
“I could also activate boost and shoot weapons, but only the sounds would play and would not actually do anything,” another said.
The strange bug seems to be surprisingly common. However, Bethesda has yet to provide a fix for it, so be safe out there pilots.
In the meantime, various users have stated you can fix the bug by closing and restarting the game, so make sure to save often to avoid your favorite ship build being left behind.
