Gaming laptops are entering a new phase of existence, where they’re actually a totally viable, no-compromise machine for you to game on. Especially compared to the lumbering desktop-replacement beasts of the past. Gigabyte’s Aero brand is a wide range of laptops that attempt to bridge the gap between work, creativity and entertainment, with this latest iteration being no different.

Equipped with a 16-inch AMOLED screen, the Aero is ideal for those without an external monitor, with a beautiful panel to compliment everything you plan to do. Combined with one of the latest laptop CPU chips from Intel, the 12700H and a powerful RTX 3070 Ti GPU from Nvidia, it’s a powerhouse condensed into a portable frame.

There are no compromises here either, as the 3070 Ti and 12700H have already proven themselves as incredibly powerful PC components. You’ll get solid gaming performance with any game at 1440p. While it doesn’t have a high refresh rate screen, clocking in at 60Hz, the 4K panel inside will make your games pop, and appear in vivid detail.

It’s also capable of consuming up to 125 watts, which is offset by the cooling built inside, including a 59-blade fan and five heat pipes to keep your games from being thermally throttled. Also onboard is Wi-Fi 6, offering faster speeds compared to previous generations.

The Display is HDR 500 rated, offers True Blacks and also provides 100% DCI-P3 colors, allowing you to get a more accurate picture in games and content creation.

The addon is included in the box, so you don’t have to shell out for dongles.

The only downside appears to be the three USB-C ports, two of which are Thunderbolt 4. However, to get around this, Gigabyte has packed in their own Thunderbolt 4 hub for you to use, which gives you a mini DisplayPort, HDMI, Ethernet and a regular USB-A port. The two video outputs are rated at 4K60, so if you wanted to connect these to your high refresh rate gaming monitor you’d have to look for another Thunderbolt 4 compatible dock that provides it. These are usually pretty expensive, so it’s an incredibly welcome addition to the package.
