PC owner devastated after clumsy cat destroys their entire setup
RedditCat owners all love their feline friends, but sometimes our fluffy companions can cause us a great deal of heartache, like this PC user, whose entire rig was destroyed by his cat.
Cats are curious creatures. They march to the beat of their own drum and generally do what they like, when they like it. This is one of the reasons we love them, and how they became the internet’s favorite animal.
However, they can be destructive. Shredding your sofa or furniture with their sharp little claws, knocking glassware and ornaments off tables, or even destroying several hundred dollars of PC gaming hardware.
Reddit user and PC gamer Anteater-According was looking forward to playing some ranked matches in Overwatch 2 when they got home from work. Instead, they found a scene of devastation.
Their multi-armed monitor stand had been tipped over, causing it and all four displays attached to it to crash to the ground. This of course pulled the gaming PC with it, spinning it around and pulling on many of the cables. This likely caused severe damage to several wires, with possible internal damage to the PC components. Needless to say, PC’s aren’t built to withstand being yanked around.
A scene of feline devastation
As you might expect from the introduction, all of this damage was caused by one clumsy, curious cat. The four-pawed menace was not named in the Reddit post, but several users did note that Anteater-According was possibly courting trouble with the placement of the cat’s litter box, which sat right next to the PC desk. As noted earlier, cats are curious to the point of being nosey, so it’s to be expected that a cat will want to explore their territory.
Other Reddit users were more sympathetic, though many suggested better cable management or a more secure arrangement for the monitors.
Perhaps Anteater-According should set up a cat platform like another Redditor, to keep their feline friend happy, and safely out of the way of expensive electronics.
