Samsung’s next foldable could get one of the best features from the S24 Ultra
SamsungThe Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 may get a huge camera update with a 200MP main camera sensor, according to a leaker.
Galaxy S24 Ultra is Samsung’s best smartphone to date and arguably one of the best camera phones in the market. It packs four impressive camera sensors on the rear, highlighted by a 200MP main shooter.
This setup is exclusive to the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra models, however, a bold rumor claims Samsung may give the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 a similar camera prowess. Samsung foldables aren’t known for their cameras, so this seems to be good news.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 to get a big camera update
The news comes from tipster Revegnus, who has a decent track record. The source says, “There’s talk of equipping the Fold6 with the same camera sensor as the S24 Ultra instead of decreasing the battery capacity.”
If true, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 may feature a 200MP camera sensor on the rear. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 currently features a 50MP main shooter, which is okay but not very impressive considering the $1800 price tag. The new camera sensor could give Z Fold 6 a much-needed camera boost.
However, it’s better to take this leak with a pinch of salt. Revegnus themselves aren’t entirely certain about the information, as they mention there’s only “talk” of it. Also, previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will essentially get the same cameras as the Z Fold 5.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 may even get larger foldable and cover displays, according to display industry insider Ross Young. Samsung has also been rumored to slim down its upcoming foldable while increasing the battery capacity.
There are still over six months before the Korean company announces the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The Z Flip 6 may debut alongside it. There are also rumors of a more affordable foldable lineup, but we are yet to learn more concrete details about it.
