Steam Deck games get up to 85% off in killer Humble sale

Humble’s Winter Wonderland Sale has kicked off and highlights some fantastic games – and one real rotten one – with up to 85% off.

The Humble Winter Wonderland Sale is here, and with it another bounty of games to choose from. It’s not been long since Humble’s last sale, with another chance to grab some great games at a cheaper price.

Some of these will be fantastic on the new Steam Deck OLED, with its brilliant screen emphasizing some games much better than the original LCD model. The Handheld Friendly sale is for everyone though, not just Steam Deck users. Those on other handheld systems will still be able to get the most out of these.

Steam Deck owners need to check out Death’s Door

Death’s Door is a wickedly challenging game, with a dark sense of humor as it has you traverse an isometric thickly gothic world. It offers a decent punch, with bosses and regular enemies needing to be consistently paid attention to.

There’s an incredible challenge level part way into the game that asks you to do without dying. Overcoming that has a feeling rarely been met.

Loop Hero on handheld PCs is a devilish combination

Loop Hero had us by the shoulders for about a solid week when it launched. The part-rogue-like, part-strategy game forces you around a loop. As you tackle the challenges of traversing the loop, you unlock different elements to add to the loop.

Not all of them are going to be helpful. It’s up to you to decide how you tackle each loop until you can face off with the evil.

It has a menacing grip on the brain, with a “one more turn” element running right through its core.

Balan in Wonderworld is so bad you should get it

Yuji Naka, the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, made Balan in Wonderworld. It’s a semi-follow-up to his work during SEGA’s early 3D era. Mainly, it’s a follow-up to Nights into Dreams in theme, a game that still divides today (to put it politely). Elsewhere it seems to be an amalgamation of poor decisions, it’s a very bad video game. However, everyone must at some point cleanse themselves in the ooze of something so bad it inflicts permanent psychic damage.

Also, bizarrely, the start of Naka’s downfall.

Yuji Naka received a suspended prison sentence after insider trading while working at Square Enix, while presumably working on Balan in Wonderworld.
