Destiny 2 skin for Ellie in TLOU2 leaked but fans point out the irony
Naughty DogWith the TLOU2 remaster nearing release, a leak is showing Destiny 2 will be in-game, and fans are pointing out the irony of the crossover.
It’s been a while ride since The Last of Us Part 2 initially launched back in 2020. Since then, Naughty Dog has been working on a multiplayer title for the beloved Factions mode until it saw the axe a little over a month ago.
In its place, TLOU2 returns via a remaster, boasting all the improved bells and whistles of the PS5’s power, alongside the new No Return rogue like mode.
Ahead of the remaster’s arrival, leaked footage is sprouting up, showing a rather interesting crossover with another member of the PlayStation family.
Destiny 2 shirt leaked to arrive in TLOU2 Remastered
In the remaster, Ellie will have access to a ton of unique cosmetics to wear. However, as spotted by DestinyTracker, via Reddit user Terioss65, it seems Bungie’s flagship title, Destiny 2, will have a spot in Ellie’s wardrobe with an in-game shirt bearing the iconic Destiny logo.
While it may seem like a sign of respect between both members of the PlayStation family, many have found it to be rather ironic. Before the Factions mode was scrapped, it was reported Bungie served as an advisor to the project, and the studio’s feedback was less than stellar, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.
With that in mind, the general reaction was perfectly summed up by this passionate response: “WAIT SO BUNGIE TELLS NAUGHTY DOG THAT TLOU ONLINE ISN’T ENGAGING ENOUGH, THEN IT GETS SHUT DOWN AND THAT GOD FORSAKEN SYMBOL IS ADDED TO THE REMASTER.”
In general, Naughty Dog has been pretty good at sprinkling in doses of other PlayStation members in The Last of Us’ cosmetics such as the Jak hoodie for Ellie in the first game. That said, TLOU2 and Destiny 2’s leaked shirt might be a sore spot for players who were hoping Factions would become a reality. The Reddit user who captured the Destiny 2 shirt showed more images, but be wary of spoilers.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered releases January 19 for PS5 via a $10 digital upgrade path if you own the title already. If you don’t, it’ll run you $50 or your local conversion.
