Hotel guest shocked after robot shows up to her door for room service

A hotel guest was left stunned after a robotic butler approached her door when she called for room service.

TikToker Sarah A. VanVactor (@gogettersaraha) was staying at the Aloft Hotel in Chicago when she ordered a toothbrush. But to her surprise, she found a robot at her door delivering the requested item.

In a viral clip with over 4.2 million views, she filmed her interaction with the futuristic helper. “I called room service for a toothbrush. Look what arrived,” Sarah wrote in the text overlay as the robotic butler, with an open container full of toothbrushes and lollipops, beeped and chirped.

The robot’s blue light emanated from its base, seemingly inviting hotel guests to retrieve items from inside. The TikToker took out a single-wrapped toothbrush and tapped on some dialog boxes on a touch screen displayed on the device.

After doing so, the robotic assistant chimed once more before turning around as she closed her door, laughing. “Lol, not me having a conversation with it,” she captioned the clip.

Many TikTok users in the comments found the robot butler adorable. “I love the happy chirps and lil dance when you give 5 stars,” one person said. “Omg I love its little chirps it’s so cute,” another added.

Others couldn’t comprehend why Sarah didn’t seize the chance to enjoy the unique candy opportunity presented by the robo-delivery. “Why didn’t you take the lollipops? whhhhhy,” one user commented.

“The fact I would’ve taken like 20 lollipops only to see you take ZERO,” another shared. “NOT EVEN 1 LOLLIPOP?” a third wrote, to which the TikToker replied, “I think I was in shock and too stunned to grab a lollipop.”

This is just the latest robot-related moment to take off on TikTok; previously, a diner went viral after his robot server spilled two drinks all over the restaurant floor.
