Woman finds secret zoo behind a bar and TikTok can’t believe it
Sophie Knight / TikTokA woman shared a hidden gem she found after she realized the backyard of a pub she’d gone to was the home of a secret zoo, filled with cheetahs, otters, and flamingos.
TikTok user Sophie Knight shared a vlog of a wholesome day out in Kent, England, as they went to have some food at a local pub.
“Did you know about this local pub in Kent? It has a zoo out back!” she wrote over the top of the video, which has been viewed over 448,000 times at the time of writing.
The pub in question, named The Fenn Bell, is a Conservation Project, in Medway, Kent, holds its own zoo license and has rescued or received animals from different zoos. Their work focuses on “giving the animals a safe and enriching environment to live in”.
Sophie showed herself heading behind the pub in the video, as they admired the greenery and the animals.
Following their visit to the zoo, they headed into the pub itself for some food, with Sophie opting for chips, chicken nuggets, and baked beans – a British staple.
“Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! A lovely country pub with a twist…” Sophie captioned the video.
Viewers couldn’t believe what they were seeing and quickly took to the comment section to express their awe and excitement.
“Omg I need to visit immediately! serval cats I want to get one,” one user said, while a second person commented: “This is amazing.”
