Bob Odenkirk losing every Emmy is the saddest video you’ll see today
AMCA supercut of every time Bob Odenkirk missed out on an Emmy for AMC’s Better Call Saul is currently breaking hearts on TikTok.
Odenkirk portrayed Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman for six seasons of Better Call Saul. He originated the role in Breaking Bad, which Better Call Saul is both a prequel and sequel to.
The star famously almost didn’t complete Better Call Saul’s sixth season, as he suffered a near-fatal heart attack on the set. Fortunately, he made a full recovery and returned to wrap up filming.
Odenkirk’s performance in these final episodes was widely praised – but still failed to beat out Kieran Culkin’s Succession Season 4 turn at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

This caps off a dismal run of form for Odenkirk at the Emmys, leaving him with zero wins from six nominations for Better Call Saul. Now, TikToker shittyeditss has collated clips of Odenkirk being passed over for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award, and it makes for decidedly brutal viewing.
If it’s any consolation to Odenkirk (and his fans), many of the comments below the video argue Better Call Saul’s lead deserved an Emmy for his performance.
“This year it’s worse,” opined one commenter. “Because [Odenkirk] actually deserved the award far more than Kieran Culkin but Succession had the recency bias.” “Dude, Bob Odenkirk deserves so many Emmys,” agreed a second.
“You can see his heartbreak bro I feel so sorry for him,” chimed in a third. “He deserved it.” “Best character I’ve ever seen,” commiserated a fourth. “Well written and very well portrayed by Bob Odenkirk and sadly it never won an Emmy (0-6).”
It’s worth noting that Odenkirk has enjoyed success at the Emmys for earlier projects. He nabbed the Outstanding Writing for a Variety or Music Program award for Saturday Night Live and The Ben Stiller Show in 1989 and 1993, respectively.
What is Bob Odenkirk’s next project?
Odenkirk still has plenty of opportunities left to rack up more shiny statuettes for his mantle, too. The Hollywood veteran has several new projects on the way, including a remake of cult flick The Room. Odenkirk will portray Johnny – the role immortalized by Tommy Wiseau.
He’s also set to reprise the Hutch Mansell role in the sequel to 2021 action-thriller Nobody. Odenkirk’s co-star Connie Nielsen confirmed Nobody 2 is going ahead in a January 2024 interview, although she declined to share any details regarding its story or target release date.
