Bob the Builder animated movie starring Anthony Ramos in development
MattelBob the Builder is back, a new animated film starring Anthony Ramos as the titular builder set to release at some point in the future.
When it comes to popular children’s cartoons, kids from the 1990s and early 2000s will likely know and love Bob the Builder.
The original series ran from 1999 to 2011 and for many, was a staple cartoon in their childhood. In light of this, it has been confirmed that a brand new Bob the Builder project is underway, with a new animated film set to offer up a brand new take on the iconic character.
Following the giant success that was the Barbie movie, toy developer Mattel has decided to see if they can reclaim that success once more, revealing that they will be working on a new Bob the Builder animated movie.
The upcoming film will be produced by Jennifer Lopez and will star Anthony Ramos as the titular builder with Felipe Vargas attached to write the screenplay. At the time of writing, no director has been confirmed for the new project.
The news, which was reported on by Variety, reveals that this new Bob the Builder film will be a completely fresh take on the character. The upcoming film will follow Roberto (aka Bob) who travels to Puerto Rico for a major construction job.
According to the official logline, audiences will see Bob as he “takes on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey will celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Time will tell what other actors are cast to round for the film.
