Daisy Ridley teases that new Star Wars movie plot is “cool as sh*t”
DisneyStar Wars actor Daisy Ridley claims that her new Star Wars movie will be “cool as sh*t” and is a “worthwhile” story.
Actor Daisy Ridley was shot into the world of stardom after she was cast as Rey in the most recent Star Wars trilogy. While the films are still a hotly debated topic within the Star Wars community, they did manage to do well at the box office.
And while the likes of John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and others from the trilogy have admitted they will likely not return to the franchise, Ridley is set to star in a brand new movie that will take place 15 years in the future from the events of Rise of Skywalker.
In recent weeks, there has been much discussion about Ridley’s upcoming Star Wars movie. While there were rumors that the film will be delayed, it has since been confirmed that the project is still on track and is currently being worked on.
And while not much is known about the plot other than it being set in the future, Ridley recently sat down with Variety to discuss her career and future. During the interview, Ridley was asked if she could tease any new Star Wars details.
Despite not being able to share too much, the Rey actor did confirm that she has been told what the story will be and she is excited for fans to see what this new future Star Wars project will entail.
“The short answer is I don’t know. I’m excited to do the job, but not because Sharmeen is a woman. Her documentaries are amazing. Her idea for the story is cool as shit. No spoilers, but she gave me a rundown of the entire story. If it weren’t amazing, I would have been like, “OK, call me in five years.” But it’s worthwhile.”
Furthermore, Ridley discussed how she feels being the only main actor from the Skywalker trilogy to return to the franchise and admitted that moving forward in the franchise without the likes of John Boyega and Oscar Isaac as it all feels “quite different” to her now as a more experienced actor.
“I don’t know what is what or who is who [in the new movie]. So much has happened for me [since the Skywalker saga]. I feel like a grown-up now. When I first started, I was, like, 20.
I was the youngest on set. It took me the first two “Star Wars” films to feel worthy of being there. Now I’m in my 30s. The whole thing feels quite different. I’ve been able to work with other filmmakers, and hopefully, I’ve got better as a performer.”
