Deadpool & Wolverine caused Henry Cavill to become “stick to his stomach” while filming his memorable scene.

Deadpool & Wolverine was filled with many iconic cameos, but the one that stood out amongst them all was Henry Cavill as Cavillrine, a Wolverine variant.

The actor effortlessly stepped into the role of the clawed hero, rocking Wolverine’s signature horned hairstyle and cigar-chomping trait.

Even though he was in the movie for a short time, Cavill dedicated himself to the role by continuously smoking during an eight-hour shoot, which led him to become quite ill.

“Not only had that pumped-up muscular body but kept that cigar lit and in his mouth for the entirety of the shoot day,” director Shawn Levy told The New York Times. “I remember hearing the next day that Henry was sick to his stomach because he had been inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours straight, but never once did he waver.”

Cavill’s smoking habit wasn’t the only way he committed to his Marvel role, as posted a photo of himself in costume to Instagram with the caption, “To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache.”

The pic doubled as a subtle dig to his unnatural-looking face, which appeared in some of the reshot material of Justice League.

As he had recently grown out a mustache for his role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Paramount didn’t allow the actor to shave the stache for reprise his role as Superman.

Because of this, Warner Bros. was forced to use CGI to remove Cavill’s facial hair, leaving him with a wonky-looking mouth in the final cut of the DC movie.

It wasn’t just Cavill who poked fun at his former employer as Deadpool also had a go at Marvel’s rival, telling Cavillrine Marvel would “treat you so much better than those sh*t f**ks down the street.”

While it’s unclear if the actor will return to the role of Wolverine any time soon, at least fans know Cavill is down to do whatever it takes to embody the X-Men leader.
