Argyle director Matthew Vaughn teased that Deadpool 3 could be the film that ‘saves; the Marvel universe.

The future of the MCU is very much up in the air at the moment. With actor Jonathan Majors officially fired from the role as the next big villain Kang, Marvel is seemingly reworking many of its future projects.

While Deadpool 3 is still set to hit theatres in 2024, the film is currently the only major release for the franchise on the calendar. Marking the first time the MCU has released just a single film in a year since it first launched.

However, those working on Deadpool 3 as well as other industry members have teased that the upcoming Marvel film is a must-watch for fans and one that could just reignite the fire.

While promoting his latest movie Argylle, director Matthew Vaughn made an appearance of the BroBible’s Post-Credit podcast.

During the episode, the filmaker revealed that he has seen snippets from the upcoming Deadpool 3 film and that the new project has the potential to “jolt” fans back into the MCU hype that took over the world during the lead-up to the likes of Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable,” he said.

Vaughn added, “That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”

The director then added that he himself is a major fan of the X-Men characters and as such, always roots for movies based around this group of heroes to succeed.

“I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be,” he added.
