Lisa Frankenstein is a new horror romance inspired by Mary Shelley’s classic novel – but does this blackly comic tale feature a post-credits scene?

Lisa Frankenstein is written by Diablo Cody, who has previously swum in similar waters via 2008 cult classic Jennifer’s Body. It marks the directorial debut of Zelda Williams.

Kathryn Newton stars as the title character – actually Lisa Swallows in the movie – who embarks on a relationship with a reanimated corpse from her local cemetery. Who is played by Riverdale hunk Cole Sprouse.

So read on to discover if their story continues after the credits have rolled… minor spoilers ahead!

Does Lisa Frankenstein have a post-credits scene?

No, Lisa Frankenstein does not have a post-credits scene.

There are three climactic scenes in a row, and the final of those feels like it could be post- or mid-credits. But Cody and and Williams clearly decided it was better placed before those names start appearing.

And those names include Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Echo and the Bunnymen, with the 1980s soundtrack an absolute banger. Details of which can be found here.

While you can check out Dexerto’s 3-star review of Lisa Frankenstein here, where we wrote that: “Writer Cody and director Williams have chucked some Tim Burton in there. And some David Lynch. And some John Waters. And there are times when it feels like a gothic take on Heathers.

“The film has something to say about peer pressure. Though admittedly not a huge amount. And it certainly doesn’t go as hard or as sharp or as fast as the aforementioned Jennifer’s Body, with this a much tamer affair.

“And while those pacing issues threaten to spoil the movie, Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse rescue proceedings, just as their characters rescue each other. So if you like your romance dark and twisted – with a side of blood and gore – Lisa Frankenstein is a fun ride.”

Lisa Frankenstein hits screens tomorrow – February 9, 2024.
