Doona! fans are convinced more episodes will be released
Netflix Do Doo-na and Won-jun make it to the end in Netflix’s romance K-drama Doona! after a seemingly open-ended finale? Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jon’s K-drama has fans speculating the nine-episode season isn’t the end, based on a few clues.
Doona! has a famous K-pop idol who abandoned the limelight for a life of seclusion at a college share house. Amid her inner turmoil, Doo-na meets the house’s new tenant, Won-jun. While trying to keep up with his studies and an old crush, he becomes intrigued by Doo-na and her mysterious persona.
As the K-drama progresses, the two characters fall into an inevitable love story. Feeling abandoned, Doo-na clings to Won-jun and the comfort he provides her. After nine episodes, the K-drama takes a turn a the reality of Doo-na’s stardom and the world she lives in creeps back in.
By the Doona! finale, fans had mixed reactions about the unknown status of the couple’s relationship. Looking into the Netflix K-drama and its scenes, some fans are convinced Doona! has more episodes that could give the answer.
Doona! had a kissing scene that was cut from the K-drama
K-drama fans have become detectives to figure out the truth behind Doo-na and Won-jun’s relationship status after the finale and realize one key kissing scene was filmed and then cut out.
After the opening sequence of Doona! Episode 9, the K-drama shows an older Won-jun and Doo-na walking toward each other in a pink field. At first, the scene may not make sense until reaching the finale.
The Doona! ending has both characters in a Japanese shopping center. But they never actually cross paths. Remembering the intro acene, Won-jun is wearing the same beige trench coat and suit.
The popular theory is that the two meet again and rekindle their relationship or keep it a secret because of Doo-na’s career. After a deeper dive into the K-drama’s filming, some fans are convinced that the K-drama has more storyline to tell. A fan on X (Twitter) explained Doona! filmed a longer meadow scene.
“Suzy and Yang Sejong had another kiss scene but it didn’t make it to the Final Cut? Plus they are wearing the clothes from the intro scenes so they definitely ended up together. I am convinced that Netflix will release a few more episodes considering how many scenes were cut,” commented the fan.
Another fan developed a thread after realizing some scene photos were not seen in the K-drama.
“Scenes that were not seen in DOONA! ep1 – 9: Part 1 Could there be a possibility of an additional 1-2 more eps?” said the fan.
Some of the photos in the thread weren’t full scenes, but small snippets used in Doona’s opening sequence.
One clear photo showed the two kissing in a meadow, with Won-jun wearing his trench coat. Doo-na is also seen in a Netflix still speaking to her mother, which also didn’t take place in the K-drama.
Fans are hopeful with one having said, “I hope there is at least one more episode We need these moments and closure.”
