Will there be a Full Swing Season 3?

Golfing fans have been given inside access to the sport like never before thanks to Netflix’s docuseries, but will we get a Full Swing Season 3 in the future? Here are all the details we know so far.

For hundreds of years, the sport of golf has been a rather private and exclusive game with strict rules and a degree of decorum. That’s all changing now, though, and Netflix has played a huge part in the shift.

When Full Swing debuted in 2023, fans of golf—new and old—were shown the inner workings of the sport, from the training routines and personal lives of the biggest stars in the golfing world, and the mental impact the game has on them.

Season 2 is here and we think it’s one of the best TV shows to stream this month, but what does the future hold for the series? Here’s what we know about a potential Full Swing Season 3.

Are Netflix making Full Swing Season 3?

Netflix has not announced any plans for Full Swing Season 3… yet. The streamer will likely monitor how the new season does before greenlighting another instalment.

Given the popularity of the show so far, and the rising interest in the game across the world, it would appear very likely that Full Swing Season 3 will happen, though.

When would the Full Swing Season 3 release date be?

If Full Swing Season 3 goes ahead, you can expect it to land in the early part of 2025, based on previous release dates for the show.

Rory McIlroy in Full Swing

Full Swing Season 1 dropped in February 2023, while Season 2 just arrived on March 6, 2024. That first quarter release date is perfect for Full Swing, as it offers the production plenty of time to splice together all the footage from the previous PGA Tour season, which traditionally wraps up in August.

What could happen in Full Swing Season 3?

While there’s been a focus on different golfers and their personal battles with the sport, the overarching storyline of the show so far has been the divide between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, and that story will definitely continue into Full Swing Season 3.

You might think of golf as a rather calm and dignified sport, but there is actually a lot of drama embedded in the game right now. LIV Golf is the new kid on the block, and it’s stealing top golfers from the PGA Tour with big money contracts, and those loyal to the Tour are not happy.

It’s this chaos and controversy that makes Full Swing one of the best TV shows around, and with the ongoing merger discussions, it’s an issue that is not going away. While that may be an issue for the sport, it makes for great viewing for fans of the show.

As always, the next instalment would also showcase the ups and downs from the Tour, with a focus on the winners and losers at each event on the golfing calendar.

Which golfers would be involved next time?

Rory McIlroy has been heavily involved so far, and there’s no reason why he wouldn’t lead the lineup again next time.

Tom Kim in Full Swing Season 2

Other golfers who have been included across the two seasons are Joel Dahmen, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Thomas. This year, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Keegan Bradley, Luke Donald, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Tom Kim have been added.

In the future, it’s hard to predict which new golfers could be involved, but we’d love to see the likes of Viktor Hovland, Scottie Scheffler, and Tommy Fleetwood play a bigger part.

How to watch Full Swing

Full Swing is a Netflix exclusive, so you’ll have to subscribe to the streaming service to watch the show. The first two seasons are now playing there, and that’s the only place you’d find the next chapter.
