House of the Dragon Season 3 confirmed ahead of Season 2 premiere
HBOFans eagerly anticipating House of the Dragon Season 2 can rest easy knowing that a third season is already on the way.
House of the Dragon Season 3 was officially confirmed today by HBO, just days before the second season premiere.
House of the Dragon Season 2 will continue the political intrigue and high-stakes drama that comes from the fallout of Lucerys Velaryon’s death in the Season 1 finale.
Season 2 will focus on the civil war known as the Dance of Dragons as the battle to become the next Targaryen King takes place.
Plot details for a third season are something no one could guess right now, considering we don’t know how Season 2 will end. Many expect it to adapt some of the more notable events from the books, including the gruesome Blood and Cheese affair.
House of the Dragon adapts George R.R. Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood, specifically its second half. The series is set roughly 100 years before the events of the phenomenon Game of Thrones.
The announcement of a third season is sure to excite fans, especially as many believe the end of Season 2 will also finally see the release of the next book in the Game of Thrones saga, The Winds of Winter.
As of this writing, no release window is available for Season 3. House of the Dragon Season 2 premieres Sunday, June 16, on HBO in the US and June 17 on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
