House of the Dragon Season 3 being renewed before Season 2 even aired isn’t all that surprising. However, fans of the Game of Throne spinoff series do have one huge demand when it comes to the new episodes.

It’s only a matter of days until the battle between Greens and Blacks reaches new heights in House of the Dragon Season 2. Unless you’ve been living under a Targaryen-less rock, you’ll know that Season 2 leaks have been dropping thick and fast, and it’s getting hard to tell what’s real.

One piece of news we now know for certain, however, is that House of the Dragon Season 3 has been greenlit. It’s something fans expected, but they do have a big demand — they need it to be filmed, like, now.

“The filming should start tomorrow, we don’t want any two year breaks” one fan posted on X/Twitter in response to the news.

A second agreed, “They must start filming tomorrow,” while a third weighed in, “That will give it a long time viewing. Interestingly waiting for the next three seasons.”

Realistically, there might still be a hefty wait ahead for Season 3, especially given that House of the Dragon Season 2 hasn’t even premiered yet. There’s no pandemic to deal with this time, but given how intricate the visuals are — and how much VFX is needed — good quality means time.

Besides, fans have a ton of questions that need answering before we even get that far. Otto Hightower will continue to rise and Blood and Cheese are set to join the chaos. Fans even think they’ve worked out how the Season 2 finale will end.

Even though there’s an original book series to work from, some fans are concerned that House of the Dragon Season 3 will be a step too far.

“As long as it actually makes sense to continue, this rocks. Just don’t let D&D anywhere near it!” one fan said, while a second added, “Not going to lie, Game of Thrones will always stay on top. All these are just a waste of time.”

“It better be more than seven episodes,” a third complained — but so far, definite plans for the future remain to be seen.
