How to watch Perfect Days – is it streaming?
DCMWim Wenders returns, this time in a different language! Discover all you need to know about how to watch Perfect Days and its streaming availability.
From the man who brought us Paris, Texas and Wings of Desire comes Perfect Days, a movie focusing on a janitor in Japan who frequently drives between jobs listening to rock music—sounds wonderfully simple, doesn’t it?
The film combines four short stories, and should be on the watchlist of any Oscars fanatic. Perfect Days scooped a nomination for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards, becoming the first film not directed by a Japanese filmmaker to be nominated as the Japanese entry.

Is Perfect Days worth watching?
With a fresh rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, an audience score of 94%, and an Oscar-nomination, too, Perfect Days is definitely worth watching.
Nick Schager at The Daily Beast wrote: “A sweet and sad slice-of-life about the comfort and sorrow of solitary repetition, buoyed by a Yakusho performance that rightly earned him the Best Actor prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.”
Stephanie Zacharek at TIME Magazine added: “Yakusho’s performance is a marvel of openness: Hirayama observes all that’s around him—the pattern of light on the waves of a river, the tracery of leaves on a tree he sees every day…”
Namrata Joshi at The New Indian Express commented: “Perfect Days is a sublime validation of the ordinary, a film replete with grace, harmony, and hope that overwhelms and engulfs you in its humane world.”
Carlos Boyero at El Pais concluded: “The images have magnetism. And above all, it has Koji Yakusho, a notable actor who also exudes magnetism. I, at least, can’t take my eyes off his face.”
