Despite suffering a devastating accident, Jeremy Renner is ready to step back into his role as Hawkeye in the MCU.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen its fair share of celebrity step into the roles of its iconic heroes, but the original six Avengers will always be top tier in most fans’ minds.

Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye were the cornerstone of the MCU for a decade but, out of the six, two remain and it seems like Hawkeye is gearing up for a big come back.

Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye since 2012’s The Avengers, is ready to get back into the saddler after suffering a terrible accident last year.

Renner is waiting for call to return to MCU role

The Marvel actor recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss his upcoming Super Bowl commercial and the topic of returning to the MCU came up.

“I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure,” Renner said, “I’ll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so… if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.”

“It’s hard for me to look back, to be honest with you. It’s hard for me to look forward. I focus on now and this next step in front of me, ’cause there’s always another obstacle for me right now.”

Renner suffered a terrible accident in 2023 when he tried to stop his snow-removal tractor from sliding and hitting his nephew and unfortunately was pulled under the vehicle and crushed.

According to CNN, the parking brake was not engaged which led to the actor’s fate of “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” but Renner seems to be doing much better thanks to intensive physical therapy.
