Killers of the Flower Moon may not be Martin Scorsese’s biggest movie at the box office, but it has reached a particular milestone.

November is shaping up to be a killer month for cinema, what with The Marvels, Wish, and Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes all coming out. But of course, we can’t say “killer” without mentioning Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s most recent flick.

The crime epic, based on the David Grann novel of the same name, follows this synopsis: “Real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal as Mollie Burkhart, a member of the Osage Nation, tries to save her community from a spree of murders fuelled by oil and greed.”

Scorsese is one of the few remaining director names that will get audiences into cinemas, but how does this translate into box office numbers for Killers of the Flower Moon?

Killers of the Flower Moon box office – How much has it made?

Killers of the Flower Moon has currently managed to amass over $120 million worldwide. This puts it in the top percentage of Scorsese movies, as now only 9 of his 26 films have passed the $100 million mark.

The previous movies to make this milestone are:

  • Cape Fear – $182.2 million
  • Casino – $110.4 million
  • Gangs of New York – $183.1 million
  • The Aviator – $208.4 million
  • The Departed – $289.7 million
  • Shutter Island – $299.5 million
  • Hugo – $180 million
  • The Wolf of Wall Street – $389.8 million

However, Killers of the Flower Moon still needs to earn back its $200 million production budget, and also has to compete with the bombastic Taylor Swift Era’s Tour Movie, which is currently grossing around $164.78 million globally.

But disregarding money, the movie has already kept up Scorsese’s quality streak, currently sitting at a 93% Critic’s Score on Rotten Tomatoes. Check out the movie’s trailer below:
