Marvel slammed for “desperate” Thanos comeback rumors
DisneyJosh Brolin has revealed the rumor that Thanos may be returning to the MCU and fans aren’t happy about it.
The big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe up until this point was undoubtedly Thanos, the genocidal warlord from the planet Titan who wanted to use the Infinity Stone to snap half of all life out of existence.
Thanos was the final boss that the Avengers fought and defeated at the end of Phase 3 in the action-packed two-part movies Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
Because he was defeated in the last Avengers film, fans were certain that the villain would never return to the big screen but, thanks to a rumor revealed by Thanos actor Josh Brolin, fans are now upset that he may return.
Marvel fans think the studio is “desperate” for Thanos’s return
While doing press for the upcoming film Dune: Part Two, ComicBookMovie.com asked Brolin if he thought the purple villain could make a grand return, to which he sort of confirmed that it could happen.
“You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back,” Brolin said, “And there’s the What If…? series and that’s a different kind of Thanos and all that. But I don’t know in the Marvel world whether they’re going to bring him back, but I didn’t know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain … You learn something new every day.”
While one would think Marvel fans would be excited to see Thanos back on the big screen, many were quick to criticize the studio for bringing back a character they’ve killed several times over.
“Marvel is really desperate,” one Twitter user wrote with another remarking, “Remember when Kevin Feige was a supposed creative genius with a master plan for everything?”
Many fans were quick to express their disappointed reactions to this new. Check out some of the reactions below:
While many Marvel fans don’t like the idea of Thanos’ return, some are excited at the prospect as the new phase of the MCU does not have a concrete villain so far and Thanos was a fan favorite.
