Miles Teller’s grandmother has faith that he could step into the iconic role of James Bond.

With ‘No Time to Die’ marking the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond, the search has already begun for his successor.

Although the series’ producers have said that the next installment is two years away from beginning production, it hasn’t stopped fans from speculating as to who will be cast.

From Idris Elba to Tom Hardy to Henry Cavill, plenty of big-name British actors have been bandied about as the new 007. However, there’s at least one American actor whose grandmother thinks that he would be perfect for the part.

Miles Teller’s grandmother touts him as a great choice to play James Bond.

After his stellar performance as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ Miles Teller has proven himself to be a star in Hollywood. So much so that his grandmother thinks he could be the first American to portray James Bond.

In an absolutely wholesome moment, Teller’s grandmother, Leona Flowers suggested her grandson to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

Flowers said that Teller has “talent, looks, strength, worldwide appeal, and oh, so cool. He can be that guy!!”

Plenty of folks on Twitter seem to agree with Flowers’ assessment, as her tweet has almost 5,000 likes so far. Most of the comments have been supportive of the idea.

However, there has been a strong resistance to the idea. Though many acknowledge Teller is a talented actor, users like Peter Kostov reminded Flowers that “[h]e is remarkable. But he is not British, and that’s hard to cover.”

In response, some users pointed out that plenty of American roles are often played by British actors. For instance, one responded to the worry that Teller isn’t British by asking “[i]s the Spider-Man actor from New York? Nobody cares where the actors are from as long as they are entertaining”.

In fact, this is a pretty good argument against the “Teller isn’t British” argument. The current Spider-Man, Tom Holland, is English; why couldn’t American Miles Teller be the next 007?
