Another fan favorite TV show is hitting Netflix to rival Suits
USA NetworkIf you’re all out of binge-watch material after the Suits phenomenon last summer, you’ll be pleased to know that all seasons of a fan-favorite TV show will be hitting Netflix very soon.
Suits quickly became the unexpected TV show of last summer after eight out of its nine seasons dropped on Netflix, dominating the Nielsen ratings and breaking all kinds of streaming records.
The unprecedented success of the legal drama – which initially aired between 2011 and 2019 – has led to the development of a spinoff series, while also giving confidence that old shows can be brought back to life thanks to streaming.
We’ve seen a similar situation unfold with Young Sheldon after it hit Netflix, and now a new fan-favorite series is headed to the streamer – remotes at the ready.
Another fan favorite TV show is hitting Netflix to rival Suits
All eight seasons of the ‘00s dramedy detective series Monk will be hitting Netflix on February 5.
Season 1 of the show, in which Tony Shalhoub stars as the OCD detective Adrian Monk, first aired on the USA Network back in 2002 before concluding with Season 8 in 2009. However, Shalhoub reprised his role in Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie, which aired on Peacock last December.
If you enjoyed the return to the Monk world, soon you’ll be able to relive the ups and downs of the original show when it drops in its entirety on Netflix. Similarly to Suits, no doubt there’ll be just as many subscribers who discover the series for the very first time.
As per the synopsis: “After the unsolved murder of his wife, Adrian Monk develops obsessive-compulsive disorder, which includes his terror of germs and contamination. His condition costs him his job as a prominent homicide detective in the San Francisco Police Department, but he continues to solve crimes with the help of his assistant and his former boss.”
Monk drops on Netflix on February 5, and you can find more of our Netflix coverage here.
