Every new movie trailer that dropped during Super Bowl 2024
Disney/Universal PicturesSuper Bowl Sunday 2024 brought out the big guns when it came to new movie trailers. From Deadpool 3, aka Deadpool & Wolverine, to a new look at Wicked, here’s a round-up of all the big teasers that played during the ‘Big Game.’
Sports fans were all tuning into Super Bowl LV111 on February 11, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs (and Taylor Swift) playing the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.
But film fans were also watching the broadcast, to catch new trailers for some of the biggest movies releasing in 2024.
So below is every trailer that screened during the game, kicking off with a pair of teasers that dropped online in advance of the big game.
Super Bowl 2024: Every movie trailer that debuted
There were teasers for the likes of Deadpool 3, The Fall Guy, Wicked, Twisters, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes that played during the broadcast. Each of which we’ve since dropped below.
A Quiet Place: Day One
This prequel to the wildly successful horror franchise that began with A Quiet Place in 2018, and continued with A Quiet Place Part II in 2020, goes back to the beginning for the third installment, depicting the arrival of the aliens.
Pig helmer Michael Sarnoski replaces John Krasinski in the director’s chair, while Lupita Nyong’o, Djimon Hounsou, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff star.
IF
One of the reasons John Krasinski didn’t make A Quiet Place: Day One is because he was busy writing and directing fantasy feature IF – a family film about imaginary friends that stars Ryan Reynolds.
Paramount Pictures decided to go in an unusual direction with their “Big Game Tease,” by featuring a few scenes from the film, but mainly referencing a joke from The Office, as explained here.
The Fall Guy
While we’ve already seen plenty from The Fall Guy, the upcoming Ryan Gosling flick got another preview during the Super Bowl, offering up another minute of footage from the May 3 release.
Despicable Me 4
While not exactly a trailer for the movie, we did get some Despicable Me 4 action during the Big Game, as Minions appear to be the masterminds behind Artificial Intelligence.
Deadpool 3: Deadpool & Wolverine
The first Deadpool 3 trailer dropped during the big game, with a brief 30 second teaser followed up by a full-length trailer online.
Now officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, this first glimpse gave us a taste of what to expect when ‘Marvel Jesus’ engages with the TVA, and of course, Hugh Jackman.
Wicked
Next up came our first look at Wicked, starring Ariana Grande. The first part of the story is set to hit theaters on November 27, 2024, with Part 2 following up the next year.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes soon followed with a lengthy trailer showcasing the story of this new sequel. Long in the future where apes now hunt humans, not everyone is aligned with the ruler’s way. This one premieres soon with a May 10 release date locked in.
Twisters
Almost three decades on from the original, fans finally got their first look at the Twister sequel, Twisters, during the big game.
