Pedro Pascal just proved he’s “nerdy enough” to play Reed Richards
MarvelIn a recent roundtable with the SAG Award nominees, Pedro Pascal shocked fans with his insane method for learning lines, with some even saying he’s proved himself as the nerdy Reed Richards.
Pedro Pascal is on everyone’s mind right now. Following this week’s official reveal of The Fantastic Four cast, Marvel fans are still reeling from the confirmation of him taking on the role of Reed Richards, the leader of the famous Four.
Although Pascal won over audiences earlier this year with his portrayal of Joel in The Last of Us, not everyone was convinced of his Marvel win. Some argued that he wasn’t the best choice for the nerdy Richards, and had different ideas of how Mister Fantastic should be portrayed.
However, in a SAG-AFTRA roundtable with Billy Crudup, Matthew Macfadyen, and Kieran Culkin, he might have just proved the haters wrong in the weirdest way possible.
Pedro Pascal shocks with his “nerdy” script method
During a roundtable with his fellow SAG Award nominees, Pascal showed off his method for learning lines, which involves listing the first letter from every piece of dialog.
He held up a piece of paper to the camera, showing an insanely detailed listing of each letter for his corresponding lines. Naturally, the other actors on the call reacted accordingly: with shock and horror.
Pascal himself dubbed the method as “psycho”, while Succession’s Kieran Culkin called it “gibberish.” However, it might have done the job of convincing everyone how well-suited he may actually be to play one of Marvel’s smartest characters.
Fans jumped on this insane reveal, with one X user saying: “and people were saying he wasn’t nerdy enough to play Reed Richards.”
“This is Reed Richards level of studying… maybe Marvel is onto something,” said another.
Another user even said: “Hold on because this is actual Reed Richards level brain activity,” while another added: “Insane. This is literally my Reed Richards.”
Of course, there were comparisons to another…known figure. It can’t be denied: those look like the scribbles of the infamous Zodiac Killer, who left cryptic messages for police throughout his reign of terror in the ’60s. Naturally, fans didn’t miss a beat in pointing this out.
“The Zodiac killer with his friends one afternoon,” said one user.
“Kieran realizing Pedro is the Zodiac is hilarious,” said another.
Well, if all else fails with Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, it looks like he could always play a convincing villain.
