Ryan Gosling rumored to play long-awaited MCU role
Warner Bros. PicturesAs the MCU continues to introduce new characters into its lore, it seems like Ryan Gosling is the frontrunner to play this iconic character.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is heading into the new year and, unsurprisingly, this means a new slate of films and TV shows are on its roaster.
From Ms. Marvel to Echo, the world of the MCU will see a new crop of characters played by both small and A-list actors.
And one of those A-list actors is rumored to be Barbie heartthrob Ryan Gosling as an industry insider has revealed everyone’s favorite Ken is in talks for a certain MCU character.
Gosling could be heading into the MCU
Thanks to a leak from influential pop culture writer Daniel Richtman, it seems like Gosling is in talks to take on the mantle of the superhero Nova.
Nova, also known as Richard Rider, is best known for his role on the on The New Warriors team, which is an Avengers-like group of heroes.
The character’s powers consist of energy absorption as he can take on energy directed at him and release it via beams from specific parts of his body or his body as a whole.
It’s not surprising that Gosling would be taking steps to be in the MCU as he worked with Anthony and Joe Russo, two of the most decorated MCU directors on the action film The Grey Man.
While working with the brothers, Gosling explained to Extra that he hoped the directors “felt [his] Kenergy” and could hopefully “manifest this MCU thing [because] I think that would be cool.”
