Saltburn mansion owner hires security guards after influencers trespass on property
Prime VideoSaltburn turned heads on release for its wild plot satirizing the rich, and some of the depraved acts done by its main character. The movie has earned a cult following and now has people trespassing on the mansion where it was filmed.
Saltburn was a divisive movie on release and has since earned a cult following. The film has seen some film awards buzz and even started a trend on TikTok.
However, fans and influencers are taking their fandom to the next level by trying to stake out where the majority of the film took place. Saltburn was filmed in a Northamptonshire, England mansion that features a labyrinth of rooms and hallways and access to the scenic countryside with a small pond.
According to the owner of the property, Charles Stoford Sackville, tourists and social media influencers have begun trespassing to take photos and videos of the place.
Saltburn mansion sees influx of influencers
Sackville told the Daily Mail that he saw an uptick in visitors after the release of the film, and saw even more people come to the property after local TikTokers started sharing videos with directions.
“I never envisaged the amount of interest there would be. It’s quite weird,” he told the outlet. “I don’t take it as flattering,” Sackville said.
The 700-year-old mansion is called Drayton House and has a path open to the public that passes right alongside the property. Sackville said that he’s hired security and more staff to stop people from entering the property to film videos for social media.
“Most people are fairly good, but some get a bit inquisitive, let’s say,” he told Daily Mail.
The owner also said that he hopes the interest in seeing the mansion in real life wanes as Saltburn’s popularity dies away with time.
