The Gentlemen cast: All actors & characters
Below you’ll find a comprehensive guide on our main players in Guy Ritchie’s new drama series The Gentlemen, one of the best TV shows to watch on Netflix, from March 7, 2024.
Shane Walker, Alexis Rodney, Freddie Fox, Pearce Quigley, Emily Eaton-Plowright, Dar Salim, Laurence O’Fuarain, Jasmine Blackborow, Gaia Weiss, Leah McNamara, Adam Kiani, and Peter Serafinowicz all have smaller supporting roles throughout the series, but they’re not in this guide.
Catch up with the show’s trailer below:
Eddie Halstead: Theo James
Our main character, Eddie finds his world turned upside down when he suddenly inherits his late father’s country estate. A military man at heart, he’s determined to find out the truth about what actually happens on his family’s land.
Speaking to Yahoo!, Theo James stated that his role in the series is a “little reflection on what it means to be British.” James has previously appeared in The White Lotus and the Divergent film franchise.
Susie Glass: Kaya Scodelario
Susie Glass is quickly running rings around Edward, operating a drugs empire secretly on his land. She’s taking care of business while her father Bobby is serving time in a very luxurious prison.
Kaya Scodelario told Netflix’s Tudum “She really respects and admires him. I picture her at 6 years old, sneaking downstairs, listening in to his business meetings, watching him conduct himself and how he controls the people around him.” And while she’s not afraid of the criminal world into which she was born, she does have “a healthy dose of fear” of her father. “But I think it’s more respect. She wants to do a good job. She wants to prove to him that she can keep the ship running while he’s away.”
Skins, Spinning Out and The Maze Runner are just some of Scodelario’s previous acting credits.
Freddy Halstead: Daniel Ings
Expecting to inherit his father’s estate as the oldest son, Freddy quickly throws his toys out of the pram when he discovers it’s all going to Edward. As a result, Freddy is intent on making Edward’s life a misery – even if it does implicate him in the process.
You may well recognize Daniel Ings from The Marvels cast, Sex Education, and Black Mirror.
Lady Sabrina Halstead: Joely Richardson
The matriarch of the family, Lady Sabrina spends most of her time subtly trying to keep Edward and Freddy from attacking each other. However, she’s also extra close to groundskeeper Geoff.
Not only has Joely Richardson just appeared in Netflix’s One Day, but you can also catch her in Lady Chatterly’s Lover with Emma Corrin.
Stanley Johnston: Giancarlo Esposito
American Stanley has a vested interest in the new Duke of Halstead Edward, hoping to branch out into the U.K’s weed industry.
You’ll likely know Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Frings from Breaking Bad, alongside appearances in Do The Right Thing, and as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian Season 3 cast.
Geoff Seacombe: Vinnie Jones
Geoff is the mysterious groundskeeper on the Halstead premises, who always knows how to keep calm in a crisis. He also seems to know a lot more about what has been happening than either Edward or Freddy.
Vinnie Jones is a Guy Ritchie veteran, previously appearing in both Snatch and Lock, Stock. Speaking to London Live, Jones explained that he was attached to The Gentlemen early on, with Ritchie “sending little bits as soon as he knew.”
Henry Collins: Max Beesley
As Edward becomes more embroiled in Susie’s world, he meets Henry, a shady character who has his eyes set on something much bigger.
Max Beesley has previously starred in Bodies, Jamestown, and Mad Dogs.
Bobby Glass: Ray Winstone
Even though he’s in prison, Susie’a father Bobby Glass is still pulling the strings from afar. His presence is still fearsome, but manages to strike up a good rapport with Edward.
A titan of British hardmen acting, Ray Winstone also told Tudum “You’ve got to be very careful what you say about the Glasses – and who you say it to. We’re very stumbly-crumbly about it all. But I’m a businessman, and while I’m away on holiday, my daughter’s running the business for me.”
Ray Winstone can be recognized from Sexy Beast, Beowulf, and Nil By Mouth.
That’s all the key figures from The Gentlemen cast. The Gentlemen drops on Netflix on March 7. Check out our review of The Gentlemen, or look ahead to other Netflix releases like Virgin River Season 6, Stranger Things Season 5, or find out what movies are heading to the streamer this month.
