The Netflix top 10 chart is back with a brand-new running order – with one Tarzan movie particularly dividing fans.

When it comes to the Netflix top 10 chart, you never quite know what you’re going to get – like the ultimate pick ‘n’ mix machine for movies.

Films including The Hill, The Proposal, The Single Moms Club, and Those Who Wish Me Dead have all featured in the rankings over the last few weeks, with Netflix original content such as Fool Me Once still going strong.

Now there’s a brand-new top 10 on the Netflix chart, with one Tarzan movie dividing fan opinion.

The Legend of Tarzan divides Netflix viewers

2016 movie The Legend of Tarzan has topped the Netflix chart – but it’s left a lot of viewers divided after watching it.

Starring Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie, the movie’s official synopsis reads: “When Jane is abducted by the Belgian envoy Leon Rom while investigating the government’s activities in the Congo, John must revert to his former self as Tarzan if he is to save his beloved wife.”

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the Tarzan movie has a Tomatometer score of 35%, with an audience score of 58%.

Judging by divided social media reactions to the movie’s release on Netflix, it’s not too surprising that the film has mostly missed the mark.

“Netflix has Tarzan, I saw the first 10 mins of it and literally got so mad I cried. Congo suffers. You guys tolerated a movie based on an actual Congolese tribe and thought it would be fitting to open the scene with them negotiating with Léopold,” one user posted on X/Twitter.

“PSA: The Legend of Tarzan is on Netflix and while it’s a shakier, thinner movie than I remember…Skarsgard is perfect,” another added, with a third commenting: “Damn after watching Tarzan on Netflix I finally see why we are not supposed to have a birthday certificate woooow American steals everything literally.”

However, some clearly enjoyed the Tarzan movie more than others.

“The Legend of Tarzan is on Netflix. You know how long I’ve been waiting for this moment,” one stated, with another user agreeing: “They done out the real Tarzan on Netflix. Loveeeee this movie.”

Currently, the Netflix top 10 chart stands as follows:

  • The Legend of Tarzan
  • Queenpins
  • Lift
  • Queen Bees
  • Escape Plan: The Extractors
  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie
  • Cowboys & Aliens
  • Escape Plan 2: Hades
  • The Kitchen
  • The Hill
